In 1982 Handleys was established as a firm dealing with all aspects of village and rural property and also development sites.

Handleys was merged in 2013 with a larger firm of chartered surveyors to whom Ted Handley was an active consultant until September 2020. His full time consultancy ended thereafter.

Ted Handley then set up this new professional firm from the original offices in Mayfield but now working over a larger geographical area of East and West Sussex, parts of Surrey and Kent. However, arbitration, mediation and expert determination assignments do take him much further afield.
